I have been going through all my ROMs trying to get all the stuff onto one or two disks and deleting multiple files that I have accuired. I have a pile of ROMs that I have all the stuff off that I want but don't have a shredder that is capabale of destroying them. Is there another way to destroy a ROM so that it can't be accessed again?

Put it in the microwave for a few seconds.
Note that this will void your microwave's warranty and if you leave it in too long, it could damage it. Too long could be as short as a few seconds.

As soon as you hear it "pop" the disk will probably be unrecoverable.

You can also just wrap a towel around one and bend it in half.
The pieces that fly off are sharp, so the towel is used to contain them.

I usually scratch the surface real good with scissors... then it can't be read

Actually, you don't scratch the label side. No data is there.. you scratch the clear side, the bottom... that is where the data is at.

Possibly a quick drag across some emery cloth(Sand Paper). Both sides.

I like to use a razor blade or sharp knife. If you cut it deep enough it be unreadable. And you can even cut the label side too, since any scratch on the label that is deep enough can affect the readable surface.

Just to be sure I do 1 cut on each side and make the cross each other.
