How many wires do you have in your ceiling?

Ceiling fan wiring - Ceiling Fans N More (http://www.ceiling-fans-n-more.com/ceiling-fan-wiring.php)

If both are controlled seperatly at switch, one wire for light and one wire for fan, Just take the fan wire and connect to hot side.

If you have only 2 wires from switch to fan location, and it used to be a light They make a Unit that will go in place of switch(transmitter) up to fan canopy(where receiver is placed)
Now instead of a neutal and 1 controlled item, you have 2.

If it is 2 wires(Not counting ground) and in conduit, and with power off, Disconnect wire at fan and switch. Pull 1 out pull 2 in. Reconnect

Usually there is an unswitched hot leg in the box in addition to the switched hot.. . Usually black and red.. . That will do exactly what the OP wants with no additional purchases or wiring.
