Just started yesterday! Rattling from kitchen faucet. Is it a pressure thing? Single handled lever, it happens in certain positions

Price-phisher, single lever... it seemed to only do it when I had it turned all the way to the right(cold)... it doesn't do it if I don't push it fully to the right... so I haven't been, but would like to know what causes the rattle... thanks doug,

Most of the time the problem is with the diverter inside of the faucet. You can go the www.pricepfister.com and get a parts break down of your faucet and you will be able to see exactly where it is located inside the body.

It may be the diverter but it only does it when you use cold and not hot so likely it is something else. Check to see if the stop [valve under sink] is open partially. Sometimes that can cause it to stutter.

This is called "seat chatter" and can be caused by a small pebble vicrating in the cold water supply line or a loose and vibrating washer in the cold water angle stop. I would think that if it were the diverter it would chatter with hot water as well as cold. Good luck, Tom
