My microwave only produces heat part of the time but the fan is always on when it's operational so you can't tell if it's heating the food or not until you pull it out. Could this be something I might be able to fix myself? I just spent $350 repairing my kenmore fridge last week and these appliances are only three years old. Please help.

Most of the internal functioning parts of the OTR microhood are on the right side as you face the unit (behind the front controls). Should you tamper with those and receive a shock, it could be lethal and microwaves somehow take the 110V and concentrate it and the shock you might receive could be deadly. I don't recommend you attempt to repair it for that reason.

Could most likely be the magnetron going out. If it is, check your owners manual, as some have a 5 year warranty. That will significantly reduce the cost.
