OK I live in canada in montreal and I was accused of doing vandalism... they said that if I could not afford a lawyer that I could get a free one, which would be better for me.. And also can cops see the money you have in banks?? I am not rich so I don't want to waste my money and I am guilty anyway so thers no piont in getting a good lawyer.

If you said you are guilty then there is no reason to pay for a lawyer. I'm quite sure you don't plan on lying in court right? So, no you don't need to give a lawyer money to tell the court you're guilty.

I wouldn't bet my freedom on a "free lawyer"

Good idea. Lawyers are good, however, at negotiating a plea with the DA. A paid-for-lawyer may be the difference between 6 months and 2 yrs. Probation, or community service hours. I personally wouldn't go into a situation such as this without a lawyer, but that is just me. Good luck.
