Hello, I am 20 years old and was born in the uk. I plan to go to pakistan in June and marry a girl from there. I have been told that the immigration rules have changed and I wouldn't be able to apply for my wife's visa until I'm 21, and also that my wife has to be 21 as well before we can apply. I can't seem to find out if this is true or not, as far as I know as long as both applicants are 18 we should be able to apply but there are rumours going around that this is not the case and the law has been changed in April 2007. I have also been told that my wife will have to give an interview in english at the embassy. Is this all true. Can anybody answer my questions. Do we have to both be 18 or 21?

Hi, if you contact the embassy I am sure they will answer your questions, they will know the up to date factual information, is best to know the facts rather than what someone thinks. Take care, love and peace anne x

As long as you are both 18 or over, then you can apply for a spousal visa for your wife to be.
With effect from April 2008, all visa applicants will have to undertake an English test!
Hope that helps..
