My cat just 6 beautiful kittens and now she is moving them and running around with them in her mouth. I don't know what to do about that. I do realize that she is trying to find a safe place for them but how and what should I be doing about that I want to make sure they are safe this is her first litter. Also I have two other cats in the house hold what advice do you have for that situation. She has been doing fine she just had this little miracles yesterday so this is all very new to all of us. Please reply with good advice I don't want to mess this up for her. Thanks guys!

Do you have an extra bedroom or unused room to put a sleeping box and litter box for the mom?

I like the above answer.

I don't know if she had her kittens in what some people would call a "birthing box." Just a cardboard box lined with towels or whatever to make it soft and warm.

If you don't have a box like that, you might want to consider making one and putting it in a room where mom and her kittens can have some privacy.

Another thing is to put food, water and a litter box in the same room as mom and her kittens.

Yes currently I have them in my bedroom but its like she wants me to be around her at all times. When I leave the room she chases me. By the way how and when should I intoduce them to the kittens?

They have a nice comfy box and the whole set up she also had the kittens in the middle of the living room. It was weird but awesome.

A number of years ago one of my cats had her litter on the steps leading to the second floor.

You might want to try putting mom and her kittens in another room that is private and secure. With the last female cat that I had who had a litter, everything was in the basement.

Your cats are all going to adapt to the situation. They have to if they are all going to live together. Mom is going to protect her kitties if she needs to. And, believe me, if she needs to, no other cat that is trying something around her kittens that she doesn't approve of, is not going to like messing with her.
