I had an account with Chase. I had become ill and was unable to pay my bill. After 3 months the minimum payment was over $3000. I would get calls everyday. Sometimes 3-4 times a day. I was in the hospital and unable to talk to them. My mother and sister spoke with Chase and told them the situation and they continued to call and call and call. My dad spoke to a supervisor about the issue. He then sent a letter stating they cannt call anymore due to the excessive calls. Chase gave my account to Mann-Bracken in less then 2 months time. My debt with Chase was $12,000. Last July I gave Mann-Bracken a payment of $500. I spoke with them several time since then offering what I could afford and if it wasn't what they wanted they wouldn't take any payment. IE $100-$200 when I had extra money. They called me everyday, including Sundays, leaving messages 1-2 times a day. Now I am offering a settlement of $5100 and they will not take anything less then $9000. That is all I have to give them. Ive spoken with supervisors and the response I get is they will not discuss it any further. It is very frustrating when I am trying to get this resolved. What are my rights in this matter? What can I do to get this resolved ASAP now that I have some money? What do I legally have to settle for in PA? Please Help!
