I am now 17. About 6 months ago my dad got druck and choked me until I was almost dead but my step-mom saved me. What should I do? Did he have the right to do this to me?

Absolutely not! You can never do anything to deserve that. Have you talked to your stepmom about it? What has she got to say about that ridiculous behavior? What happened after he did that, did you go stay somewhere else? Can you go stay somewhere else now? Has he ever done this before? I honstly think you should go. Please if you feel a threat, you need to go. I am sorry for that and wish you the best of luck, please post here so I know if you are all right. Don't let this go to the wayside. Another thing, why is this worrying you now and not 6 months ago? What has happened since? Are you a boy or a girl? Sometimes Dads get all PoO'ed when they think their boy is getting to that age when they are actually a threat to them. Sometimes, they have a really rough time with know you might just be a man now. Anyway, there is no excuse for him to touch you like that. If you feel unsafe, LEAVE. Find someone you can trust ( an adult) to help you.
