My new puppy ate the wires on my outside compressor unit (I know, my fault for not having metal conduit protecting it - will definitely do so after fixing it).
Wires going to the transformer on the inside heater unit are yellow, white, red, blue.
Two wires coming out from the outside compressor unit - black and yellow. It looked from the mangled mess that the 2 yellows were connected outside, but can't tell about any others.
At the transformer, it looks like the red and white meet at a connection, and the blue and yellow meet at another. Would it be logical to presume the blue and yellow both connect to the compressor yellow and the red and white to the compressor black? I'd rather not call an HVAC guy for 6 wire connections. Thanks.

There should be a wiring diagram on the cover of your air handler which will help you. You may have to remove the thermostat to determine what colors were used for your application. The wires that go out to your outside unit will connect to the common off the transformer and to the Y terminal on your thermostat. I assume this is just air conditioning and not a heat pump. The R terminal on the thermostat will connect to the transformer. G will go to a blower relay and W should go to a heating relay of some sort.
