I know that there are others on this site who know much more about computers than I do. But, I would like to give you some suggestions based upon my experience.
I'm not sure that "New Folder.exe" is a virus, and I'm wondering why you think that it is?
If your computer is acting strangely, and you don't have an anti-virus program installed, I would do so now. I like AVG Free Edition. It is available here: AVG Free Advisor: Free anti-virus, anti-spyware and anti-malware tools (http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1) I have never had any problems with viruses since using it. That would be since about November of 2005. It is used and recommended by a lot of computer techs. One of my friends is a computer tech for a social service organization, and he installed it for me. You can set it to update automatically, or whenever it says that it needs to be updated, you can do it yourself. You will have a license to use it. And, you will need to reinstall the latest version of it in somewhere over a years time.
One time when I had a virus, my computer was acting strangely. It was a number of years ago, and I don't really remember what all the symptoms were, other than that the available disk space was getting to be less and less in too short of time. So, I decided to go searching for the virus in my computer.
So, I did a search on my computer for anything that had been modified or created around the date that the problems started to happen. I found some folders that I could not associate as belonging to any programs on my computer. The contents of these folders was getting bigger and bigger every day. These folders represented the virus. They were literally filling up my computer with unnecessary information.
So, I Erased the folders. The problems that I was having disappeared. I did it with a free product that is available here: Eraser - Free secure data erase tool to wipe files on your hard drive (http://www.heidi.ie/eraser/)
I am hopeful that the information above is helpful to you. It could be the road to a simple solution to the problems that you are having with your computer.

There are several infections on which you can have New Folder.exe. Some of which are w32.silly.fdc and w32.imaut.aa. View more about this on the virus related files and process on New Folder.exe (http://precisesecurity.com/files-process/2007/05/31/new-folderexe/)

Download NewFolder.exe removal and SDFix. Run NewFolder.exe removal tool, click the restore windows default setting button then reboot in safe mode. Check if taskmanager is accessible in safe mode, if its accesible, run the SDFix. Chances are if you can't run taskmanager in safe mode, you can't run SDFix, so system restore your computer to an earlier date until you can access the taskmanager and eventually run the SDFix.
Although it seems that SDfix already cleaned up your system you can manually clean up your shared documents. The virus created virus there that replicate legitimate folders and when you accidentally clicked one, your problem will startover. Click folder views to details so you can easily distinguish which are legitimate folders and which are exes or virus posing as legitimate folders. Delete the folder icons that show as application type. HTH.

Re: How to remove new folder.exe or regsvr.exe or autorun.inf
Following are the steps:-
1. First search for autorun.inf file.It would be in Read Mode normally you need to change it by right clicking the file , selecting the properties and un-check the read only option
2. Now Open the file in notepad and delete everything and save it.
3. Change the file status to read only mode so that the virus could not get access again.
4. Click on Start->run and type msconfig
5. Search for regsvr and uncheck any options, click OK.
6. Now go to Control Panel -> Scheduled Tasks, and delete the At1 task which would be listed here.
7. Now type regedit in the Run dialog to open the registry
8. editor.
9. Select on Edit -> Find and search for regsvr.exe
10. Delete all the occurrences of regsvr.exe
11. Now browse to entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon and modify the entry Shell = Explorer.exe regsvr.exe to delete the regsvr.exe from here also.
12. Now finally go to System 32 Folder and search for regsvr.exe. But before that uncheck Hide Protected System Files and Folders for viewing it.

I think we need to know more in order to help you. Just make sure you don't write any kind of password in your system or browser, this could also be a spyware under disguise. You will be surprised to know how far hackers can reach. Try to get your system checked by more than one anti-virus, it should work.
