I have been told that my A/C probably isn't big enough for my house, however, that there are dampers that can be manipulated to move air differently so that I can more of the cool air directed to the upstairs vs downstairs. There is literally a 20+ degree temperature distance in the two areas during the summer. Where are the dampers located and what is the proper way to adjust them? Additionally, if I do this for the A/C in the summer do I need to change them back for the winter heat?

Thanks,
Melissa :(

The dampers if there are in the duct work. Where they are is anybodys guess since I am not there to look in the duct to find them. If you do have dampers look for handles about 5 inches long that will turn. They need to be set for the proper air flow and there is a tool for that.

You will more than likely have to change them back in the winter if the winter heat setting works well.

You might be better off to have a professional come to your house and look over your system. They would then be able to make adjustments/recommendations.
