'Or close the wall up with our American dead!'(paraphrase from Shakespeare 'Henry V ')

We are on the verge of attacking Iran. Trump is putting the chess pieces in place. I just wish he would take the time from his schedule to let the nation and the world know why . ......a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them... (US Declaration of Independence ).

Recall that before the US invaded Iraq ;President Bush and the administration made the case for the war for about a year before the attack began.

Forget the world ; the US is on the brink of war and there has been virtually no public debate or explanation from the administration why.
I could make a compelling case for it ;and will support it .

But that is not my job.
To me the answer is simple . The regime in Iran has been at war with the US for more than 30 years since the 1979 revolution. Indeed since then the US has lost thousands of US troops killed and maimed by the regime and their proxies . Based on U.S.DOD Defense IRGC was responsible for at least 608 American troop deaths in Iraq between 2003 and 2011, accounting for roughly 17% of all U.S. personnel deaths in that period. Thousands more have been maimed or injured in attacks utilizing Iranian supplied weapons, including roadside bombs, EFPs, and drones.
That was largely unanswered by the US until Trump authorized the hit on Qasem Soleimani ;the General in charge of the IRGC .

Iran retaliated by a missile barrage against US troops stationed in Iraq that injured and maimed over 100 US troops .They also by credible accounts sent assassination squads to kill President Trump and John Bolton .
US sanctions Iranians over alleged plots to kill John Bolton and others around the world (https://www.ksat.com/business/2023/06/01/us-sanctions-iranians-over-alleged-assassination-plots-of-former-us-officials-dissidents/)

That they failed is due to luck and due diligence by US intel and law enforcement .

For those reasons alone the US is justified in attacking Iran .

I for one would love for the US to not be a presence in the region. There are certainly other threats to us .
But Iran is an existential threat to the US because of their ongoing terrorism, their nuclear development that was at best delayed by US and Israeli attacks on it's infrastructure .
I do not believe their program was obliterated . At best it was delayed . Only regime change will change the Iranians. Only regime change will eliminate the threat of an Iranian terrorist state hegemon in a vital region of the world . Only regime change will end the brutal repression of the Iranian people .Countless thousands have been murdered in the recent and past regime repressions of the people .

There are unknowns so I cannot guarantee a better outcome . But it is clear that this terror regime can no longer be tolerated .

For Iran to make any retaliation strike against US means that they must effectively attack every neighbor. And that is whatever offensive they can mount has been. Attacks on Israel and their Gulf neighbors .

Their most effective weapon is the blockade of the Gulf of Hormuz . That means they also would attack Chinese Indian ,Japanese S Korean interests .

The Dems who oppose this forget history .....not even long term history dating back to 1979...but even recent history .

Oct 7 2023 their proxy Hamas attacked Israel . During the war while Clueless Joe watched and drooled ;Iran sent a barrage of missiles and drones at US bases . Over 170 rained down . 3 soldiers were killed and hundreds were wounded ;many with brain injuries that will have to be cared for the rest of their lives .

Iran was able to fund their military and their terrorist proxies with cash that the emperor and Joe delivered to them as part of the phony JCPOA nuke agreement .

In addition during Joe's open border polices ,the Ayatollah issued fatwas against both Trump and John Bolton . 3 known hit squads entered the US .I do not know if they had any involvement in the actually attempts against Trump .But I do know that they were identified and stayed for some time before action was taken . And that is just what happened this decade .And knowing this ,Joe reduced the security detail to Presidential candidate Trump.
<sarc> It's almost as if he was hoping they would succeed . </sarc>

Going back to 1979 ,thousands Americans have been killed directly by Iran ;or by their terrorist proxies and countless thousands more have been wounded .

The White House published a list of Iran and Iran terror proxies attacks against US .

The Iranian Regime’s Decades of Terrorism Against American Citizens – The White House (https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2026/03/the-iranian-regimes-decades-of-terrorism-against-american-citizens/)

As bad as it is ;it does not capture the full extent because there is no mention of the collaboration between Iran and the Taliban in Afghanistan .

2002 the US war gamed against retired Marine Lieutenant General Paul Van Riper who played Iran's military . The US team had their a$$es handed to them. He swarmed suicide small boats and cruise missiles against a US fleet in the Gulf of Iran and destroyed an entire battle group .

At first the military denied the results . But since have developed new tactics including the most important one.... do not give them a 24 hr ultimatum warning before the attack will happen.

Weapons were upgraded including ringing Iran with defensive weapons.

This war was 20 years in development since the disastrous Millenium Challenge wargames .Lieutenant General Paul Van Riper should have a monument in appreciation for his service .

Who's side are they on ? The compliant press is giving praising eulogies for the Ayatollah A$$hola's death. The NY Slimes called him "avuncular and magnanimous"
"
With his spectacles, Palestinian kaffiyeh, long robes and silver beard, Ayatollah Khamenei cast himself as a religious scholar as well as a writer and translator of works on Islam. He affected an avuncular and magnanimous aloofness, running the country from a perch above the jousting of daily politics,"
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Autocratic Cleric Who Made Iran a Regional Power, Is Dead at 86 - The New York Times (https://www.nytimes.com/2026/02/28/world/middleeast/ayatollah-ali-khamenei-dead.html)

The Washington Compost described him as having a "bushy white beard and an easy smile" .... a jihadi Santa Claus.

"With his bushy white beard and easy smile, Ayatollah Khamenei cut a more avuncular figure in public than his perpetually scowling but much more revered mentor, and he was known to be fond of Persian poetry and classic Western novels, especially Victor Hugo’s 'Les Misérables.' But like the uncompromising Khomeini, he opposed moderates’ efforts to promote political and social reforms domestically and to secure rapprochement with the United States,"
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, is dead at 86 - The Washington Post (https://www.washingtonpost.com/obituaries/2026/02/28/ayatollah-khamenei-dead-iran/)

Not one mention that he was the leader of the leading state sponsor of terrorism .

The Slimes to it's credit did eventually mention that the regime slaughtered thousands of protesters recently .

The Compost's obit was more fettering to the Ayatollah than to Charlie Kirk.

Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point, dead at 31 - The Washington Post (https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2025/09/10/charlie-kirk-dead/)

“He also frequently generated outcry with provocative statements — saying last year that women in their [thirties] are ‘not at their prime’ for dating and commenting that he thought twice about flying on planes with Black pilots because he questioned whether they had the job because of the airline’s diversity, equity, and inclusion goals,”

I believe they mischaracterize Kirk's comments or left out content . But even if so ; Kirk never killed anyone . Kirk never led a murderous terrorist state with an apocalyptic ideology that waged war and proxy war for almost 50 years .

Khamenei was only moderate when compared to his predecessor Khomeini. He sure followed in Khomeini’s footsteps and may have been even more successful because he learned how to message on social media and attracted a 5th column of "progressive " followers in the west.
They couch their support for a genocidal anti western and antisemites ideology with terms like "resistance " "social justice"and "anti-imperial " .
