The contest is between Rep Jasmine Crockett and state Rep. James Talarico running in the Dem primary to contest for the Senate seat held by John Cornyn . (he is being challenged in a Repub primary by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and U.S. Rep. Wesley Hunt.)
Talarico ;in a bid to make wacko Crockett the more reasonable candidate recently argued that the Bible approves abortions ;and that atheists are more Christ-like than Christians.

Crockett is leading in the race.
In a bid to increase his chances ;Talarico , on the eve of early voting ,interviewed with CBS late night host loser Stephen Colbert (show to be cancelled in May.)
CBS invoking a long held FCC rule about equal time told him the interview could not be aired on the network without offering Crockett equal time. It did air on YouTube where there are no such restrictions.
So Colbert took it as an opportunity to attack his boss on CBS (and Trump just because ).
CBS claims they did not block airing it and only gave him a legal advisory .
In the days where more people get their news from other sources than the compliant press; is the old FCC equal time directive even relevant ?
Liberal free speech advocate Bari Weiss was hired by CBS to salvage their news department. This has led CBS to be less one sided in their broadcasts . But this has enraged the libs who cannot tolerate opposing view points. Colbert with nothing to lose at this point is a crusader against Weiss and is shouting 'censorship' from the highest mountain. He is not being censored .CBS just reminded him that the FCCs directives for networks; dating back to 1927; is that if you give a candidate a platform then you must offer equal time to that candidate's opponents .
