There is a special election today in Tennessee. It should be a slam dunk safe Repub win. But it is not . Mark Green retired and opened up the possibility . GOP military veteran Matt Van Epps is running against lunatic lefty Aftyn Behn. If this year's elections are any indication ,it could be a nail biter .

Behn is a former organizer for the Soros funded “resistance” group 'Indivisible Project '

She hates Nashville, which is in the district .
“I hate this city,” “I hate the bachelorettes, I hate the pedal taverns, I hate country music,” she railed. “I hate all the things that make Nashville apparently an ‘It city’ to the rest of the country.”

That should be a disqualifier . But she has closed the gap

What is the main issue ? You guessed it . Affordability .

The Repub majority is in danger . The margin is so thin that the torch could be passed to the Dems next year.

This Tennessee win was by 9 pts in a district Trump won by 22.

MTG is bowing out in January .(stayed long enough to qualify for a pension.......now expect her to be a frequent contributor to the View ) . There will be a special election for the seat some time early next year. There are also special elections in Dem districts in Texas and NJ . That will leave the Repub majority to less than a handful of Reps

This does not take into accounts other potential retirements ; deaths (3 in 2025 all Dems ) ; leaves of absence for illness or other personal reasons . Going into the 2026 midterms 39 Reps from both parties have already announced they will not run again.

Of course if the House switches majorities , Hakeem Jeffries will have to deal with the same situation. It is conceivably that the majority could switch parties more than once before the midterms .
This does not even take into account Reps who vote against their party on any given vote.
Speaker Johnson has his work cut out for him.
