Perhaps it was faulty logic to think that the path to more efficiency and reducing the size of government was to create another government agency.
Thank you Elon for the effort But maybe the execution is better off without you.
The idea is still a sound one and a worthy goal. But how to make it work going forward is the question. One thing is for sure . It doesn't need an attention grabbing ego at the helm. We already have Trump for that.
Break up DOGE as an agency and keep the staff of geniuses that were assembled as advisors .Send the responsibility of making the various Depts of the government efficient or extinct back to the Department Heads....the Cabinet.
Trump would still be in charge. He could give the mandate to the cabinet to reduce the size of their departments by adopting efficiencies that the DOGE team recommends . If cabinet or staff resists as some of them did with DOGE then they can find something else to do for a living.
They should also operate in the shadows . Make the reforms without the publicity and fanfare (is that possible in a Trump administration ?) The Dems are good at that. They constantly move the goal posts in stealth. Trump needs to step back and assign his Chief of Staff to quietly lead this effort .

The DOJ should have a team ready and willing to defend the reforms . The SCOTUS ruling limiting universal injunctions should make it easier in theory. Also the individual departments should have dedicated lawyers on staff for the same purpose.
