Brazil's version goes like this . Luiz Lulu da Silva was the leftist establishment President of Brazil . He lost the Presidency to the Liberal Party candidate Jair Bolsonaro in 2019 . He began a process of economic reforms .That led to him being labeled a right wing threat to democracy.

They faced off again in 2022 . Lulu won a close election. That is normal elections in a free nation. But that is not where it ends . Bolsonaro is charged with plotting to stage a coup. Scores of his supporters were jailed after they rioted believing the election was stolen (sound familiar ?) . He is also charged with falsifying of vaccine records related to him travelling during covid.

Same thing with John Brennan and James Clapper

In 2011, then Homeland Security Advisor to President Obama, John Brennan, swore before Congress that drone-targeted assassination missions near the Pakistani border had not led to “a single collateral death.”
That was an obvious lie with grave consequences, given that Brennan was sworn under oath and was one of the top officials in the US national security community. Yet there were no subsequent repercussions.

In fact, the opposite occurred. Brennan was subsequently rewarded with a 2013 appointment as CIA Director.
But the next year, once again, Brennan lied to Congress, assuring the Senate Intelligence Committee that his CIA had not secretly accessed senate staffers’ computers. Again, there were no consequences for his repeated lies. Instead, Brennan, upon retirement, went on to be an MSNBC/NBC analyst who helped to promulgate the Russian collusion/laptop disinformation hoaxes.
In 2013, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper also lied under oath to Congress when he laughably stated that the National Security Agency did not spy on American citizens. Later, when called out by senators, Clapper fudged in a televised interview. “I responded in what I thought was the most truthful, or least untruthful, manner by saying no.” Try that contortion with the IRS.
Some members of Congress referred a criminal complaint of perjury against Brennan to then Attorney General Eric Holder. Nothing happened. Again, one of the chiefs of the American national security community was exempted after lying to members of Congress.
Clapper went on to a lucrative position as a CNN national security analyst, and at one point he claimed that Trump was a Putin “asset.”

The first part of the Stormy Daniels ' hush money or non-disclosure agreement is a campaign finance violation ' case that may or may not be enforceable by local law ... will be jury selection .

Someone needs to explain how an impartial NYC jury can be found . Trump's influence on the city began decades before he became an international celebrity ;politician ;and President . There is zero chance you can find an eligible juror who has not heard about Trump ;and has not formed an unbiased opinion .

Flashback 2015 . Bombs had been detonated at the Boston Marathon . Everyone knew that the accused ;Dzhokhar Tsarnaev ,and his dead brother had done it . Everyone in the city experienced the lockdowns during the manhunt. 2 months after jury selection had begun a jury was sworn in. Of the 12 jurors 4 admitted during their interview that they believed he was guilty. They made the cut anyway because they said that they could put their beliefs aside. (the other 8 were probably either lying or were too stupid to have been eligible )

After Two Months Of Jury Selection, Panel Chosen In Boston Bombing Trial : NPR (https://www.npr.org/2015/03/03/390484837/after-two-months-of-jury-selection-panel-chosen-in-boston-bombing-trial?utm_source=ActiveCampaign&utm_medium=email&utm_content=How+Will+Jury+Selection+Work+for+Donal d+Trump%3F&utm_campaign=The+Collision_Everyone_How+Will+Jury+ Selection+Work+for+Donald+Trump%3F)

The decision to seat those jurors is still having an impact.

Appeals court orders judge to investigate juror bias claims in Boston bomber's trial - CBS News (https://www.cbsnews.com/news/boston-marathon-bomber-trial-appeals-court-orders-judge-to-investigate-juror-bias-claims/?utm_source=ActiveCampaign&utm_medium=email&utm_content=How+Will+Jury+Selection+Work+for+Donal d+Trump%3F&utm_campaign=The+Collision_Everyone_How+Will+Jury+ Selection+Work+for+Donald+Trump%3F)

Tsarnaev is not as well known as Trump and certainly everyone in NY has an opinion of Trump .

Martha Stewart was put on trial. It took a month to find a jury. The judge tried to prevent a media circus by barring reporters from the court during selection. 17 news organizations sued. The appeals court agreed their 1st amendment rights were violated . But since the trial had already concluded ,their opinion did not impact the trial.
ABC, Inc. v. Stewart, 360 F.3d 90 | Casetext Search + Citator (https://casetext.com/case/abc-inc-v-stewart?utm_source=ActiveCampaign&utm_medium=email&utm_content=How+Will+Jury+Selection+Work+for+Donal d+Trump%3F&utm_campaign=The+Collision_Everyone_How+Will+Jury+ Selection+Work+for+Donald+Trump%3F)

But that ruling could impact this case. Already judge Juan Merchan has slapped Trump with a gag order .
Judge Hits Trump With Gag Order in Stormy Daniels Case (newsweek.com) (https://www.newsweek.com/judge-hits-trump-gag-order-stormy-daniels-case-1883801)

I expect Trump to challenge that . Since he apparently will be spending a lot of time in court rooms instead of the campaign trail; he probably thinks it's important that he be given the right to speak out.

OJ Simpson was put on trial .It took 2 months to find a jury.

Michael Jackson was put on trial Jury selection took weeks and was postponed twice when a lawyer had a family member die ;and when Jackson got the flu . Finally after a 4 month trial Jackson was found not guilty .

None of the cases above comes close to the impact that this Trump trial will have .

Meanwhile in Georgia ;Trump's lawyer Steve Sadow argued the charges against Trump should be dismissed because Trump was exercising his 1st amendment freedom of speech when he challenged the legitimacy of the Georgia election results in 2020.

The prosecution contends that what Trump said was part of a criminal conspiracy to overturn the results . Trump's co defendants have tried the 1st amendment card already and were denied. That will be one of the bases for later appeals.

Letita James is determined to bankrupt Trump before the election .
To recap She sued Trump . Judge Engoron decided before the case was heard that Trump was guilty even though there was no injured party and his clients were completely satisfied with the dealings.

He was fined almost a half billion . He appealed The hearing on the appeal is conveniently scheduled for Sept 26. James filed a brief against the appeal this week.

I have no doubt that the NY appeals court will side with James. Trump will have to fork out the fine PLUS interest that has been accumulating since the trial . In addition the judge ruled Trump can't conduct business in NY .

The left is hell bent to take him down legally ;financially or with a bullet.

Sometimes the Dems accidently give us a glimpse of their true intent.

This happened in NY where a top spokesman for the US Attorney's office spilled the beans during conversations caught on tape. Nicholas Biase said he thought the charges brought against Trump were BS

“Honestly, I think the case is nonsense,” Biase was filmed saying to an unidentified woman on July 31 at what appears to be a bar.Biase — who said he’d known Bragg for 15 years and previously worked with him at SDNY — described the unprecedented hush money case against Trump (https://nypost.com/2024/05/30/us-news/heres-what-happens-now-that-trumps-been-convicted/) as a “perversion of justice” in the footage. He also claimed the headline-grabbing prosecutor pursued the case to make a name for himself and run for higher office.“He wants to be, something … a mayor? I’m not sure what he wants to be, but I know he’s not happy just being the DA of New York County. Before he decided to prosecute Trump, did you know who he was? You do now,” he said in the clip.

Top spokesman for Manhattan US Attorney's Office caught on secret recording blasting DA Bragg over Trump prosecution (nypost.com) (https://nypost.com/2024/09/05/us-news/top-spokesman-for-manhattan-us-attorneys-office-caught-on-secret-recording-blasting-da-bragg-over-trump-prosecution/)

Speaking of Judge Merchan ;

“This guy is probably going to try to lock him [Trump] up. And there is going to be, it’s going to be ugly…,” Biase said, in an apparent reference to Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan, who is overseeing the case.
“They are so obsessed with getting him [Trump],” he continued.Asked whom he meant by “they,” Biase shot back: “The Democrats … It affects his candidacy if he’s a convicted felon.”
But the spokesman said the apparent ruse backfired.
“Those felonies did nothing to stop Trump from running … In fact, they made him [Trump] more relevant,” Biase said in the recording.

Speaking of the Letita James case against Trump he said “Every real estate person in New York does what he [Trump] did. Nobody’s ever been charged with this … You know, it’s a perversion of justice,”

“At the federal level, where I work, there is a 90-day rule where you can’t make any decisions on cases that are going to affect an election [within 90 days of an election],” he said.
“That rule does not apply at the state level because the state level is like the f–king Wild West … They are like idiots. They don’t care. They’re all political.”

But that's not all He also commented about the Georgia election interference case brought by Fani Willis
“To put it mildly, it’s a mockery of justice. She is a joke … The whole thing is disgusting. They’re just out to get him [Trump],” Biase said of Willis.

When confronted with his words he backtracked . 'Hey I was at a bar trying to pick up a chick ' .

“I said these things in an effort to please and impress someone I just met, who was secretly filming me,” Biase said. “I’m deeply sorry to the local and state law enforcement officials working on these matters, who deserve more respect than I showed them. I should have known better.”

A 5 panel State appellate panel heard Trump's appeal of the ridiculous judgement against Trump and his business .

Clearly some of the judges had issues with Letitia James persecution.

“I’m sorry, what’s being described sounds an awful lot like a potential commercial dispute between private actors,” said Judge John Higgitt .

“There has to be some limitation on what the attorney general can do in interfering in these private transactions where people don’t claim harm,” said Judge Peter Moulton

Judge David Friedman said “You’ve got two really sophisticated parties in which no one lost any money.” He noted that prior cases brought under the state civil fraud law involved corporate actions with large numbers of victims, such as banks bilking customers. “You don’t have anything like that here”

Other cases Letitia James civil case is still waiting for a decision from the appeals court . If any of it remains Trump is likely to continue the appeals up the ladder . Given that Guv Kathy Hochul called Trump supporters unAmerican ;she would be wise to make a blanket pardon for Trump. Will she ? Nahhhh

Judge Cannon in Florida will likely dismiss the document case. Judge Chutkan in the Jan 6 case is another matter. Smith can wind down the case all he wants to . Dismissal is in her hands . Clueless Joe could pardon Trump at the same time he pardons Hunter (and he will despite his claims otherwise. )

Georgia's election interference case is another hornet's nest. An appeals court will decide if Fani Willis can still prosecute the case. But if not another prosecutor could take up the baton . I don't have a prediction where this one will go . Maybe a Kemp pardon ?

We still have 2 months of lawfare left and it appears that Garland won't go quietly. Shayne Coplan runs Polymarket ,an offshore crypto betting site where people can pretty much bet on anything. One of the bets was on the Presidential race ;and bettors went heavy for a Trump victory .

The 26-year-old entrepreneur was roused from bed in his Soho pad at 6 a.m. by US law enforcement who demanded he turn over his phone and other electronic devices, a source close to the matter told The Post.
It’s “grand political theater at its worst,” the source told The Post. “They could have asked his lawyer for any of these things. Instead, they staged a so-called raid so they can leak it to the media and use it for obvious political reasons.”

Coplan was not provided with a reason for the raid, but the source suspects it was political retribution since Polymarket accurately predicted an easy Trump triumph over Vice President Kamala Harris – as opposed to traditional polls.

According to information available to the Committee, the Antitrust Division aggressively moved to escalate its regulation of American businesses shortly following the election of President Trump. Jack Smith asked Judge Chutkan to dismiss the DC case against Trump . What will the judge do ? Will she dismiss it or try to delay it as Merchan has done?

tomder55
Nov 26, 2024, 02:59 AM
Judge Chutkan dismissed the case .

3 special prosecutors . $90 million spend by the Feds trying to get Trump . The Feds are 0-3 (The document case in Florida is also dismissed) .

Trump is NOT indicted in any Federal charges.

The one remaining question is ;were the prosecutors legally and constitutionally hired by the DOJ ?
The appointments clause (art 2 sec 2 clause 2) says Smith and before him needed Senate confirmation.

and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law: but the Congress may by Law vest the Appointment of such inferior Officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the Courts of Law, or in the Heads of Departments.

Judge Cannon in Florida ruled Smith was improperly appointed by AG Garland .That was being appealed before the dismissal.

“The Special Counsel’s position effectively usurps that important legislative authority, transferring it to a Head of Department, and in the process threatening the structural liberty inherent in the separation of powers,”
gov.uscourts.flsd.648652.672.0_4.pdf (https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.flsd.648652/gov.uscourts.flsd.648652.672.0_4.pdf)

There is no statute establishing the office of Special Council . Garland argued that Smith was an "inferior officer" that does not need confirmation.

The truth is that there has never been a case where a special council has been appointed who was not a political hack. The whole concept of a special council as it currently is exercises is unconstitutional.

Trump's codefendants in the document case Walt Nauta and Carlos de Oliveira.still have their cases active . So the appeal still needs to be ruled on by the Court of Appeals.

David Weiss was appointed special counsel in the Hunter Biden case. The same rules apply to him.

Trump picks Kash Patel to run FBI , That is an outstanding selection !!! . He was the lead investigator for Congressman Devin Nunes during the Russia hoax hearings. He had a heavy hand in the Nunes memo that first pointed the finger to the FBI lawfare against Trump. He held various national security positions for the Trump administration especially in counter-terrorism .

This nomination should put the Dems hair on fire . There is no doubt that one of his main missions is the clean house in the FBI

Larry Kudlow skewers the Hunter Biden pardon and glowingly praises Trump's selection of Kash Patel for DOJ

The fact that the Biden Justice Department tried to put Donald Trump in jail for 750 years, with their weaponized lawfare attack that never had any merit at all. All of this shows why it is essential to clean up the Justice Department and the FBI. Now, bring on stage Kash Patel, who President Trump is nominating for FBI Director.

Patel is Mr. Cleanup. He is a brilliant guy with vast experience in law, national security and fighting crime. He will come into the FBI not to take revenge, or wage a new weaponization, but instead to cleanse the agency, to clear out all the deadwood because, right now, the FBI is caught in the throes of its greatest corruption period since J. Edgar Hoover and this must stop. It must be ended. President Trump knows this and Kash Patel is exactly the guy to do it. Take a listen to this tape from our show two weeks ago:

KASH PATEL: "The worst weapon we have in government is a two-tier system of justice that's been weaponized, and I think it's time that Donald Trump came in there with a sweeping mandate that the American public gave him to return a singular system of constitutional justice. Here's the thing. There is no revenge list. If Donald Trump is successful, he will make these institutions – the FBI, DOJ, D.O.D., successful forever."

Kash Patel famously uncovered the "Russia, Russia, Russia" hoax financed by Hillary Clinton, supported by the FBI, and cooked up by their crooked mouthpiece, Christopher Steele. Kash Patel has served as Senior Director for counterterrorism at the National Security Council, Deputy Director of National Intelligence, and Chief of Staff at the Defense Department. He has tried over 60 jury trials. He has been both a prosecutor and a public defender. So, he knows all about domestic and international crime.

He is exactly what the FBI needs and Kash Patel will work closely with Pam Bondi, the brilliant woman and former Florida Attorney General who will become President Trump's Attorney General and will work hand in glove with Kash and other new officials to clean out the dirty stables of justice that has regrettably prevailed in this country for the past four years – if not longer.

I would only add that the fact they have, in some cases, been held in confinement for close to four years now That should be taken into consideration for at least giving them a release from charges. Something like 400 of the cases have been settled or prosecuted. From what I could see, I don't know that I would have proceeded with charges against 400 people.

some more lawfare news

DOJ Inspector General Office released a report about the Jan 6 riot.

25-011_0.pdf (https://oig.justice.gov/sites/default/files/reports/25-011_0.pdf)

Despite withholding this information ;the FBI had 23 confidential informants mingled in the crowd of protesters . They had strict instructions to stay clear of the Capitol Building

. Thomas Massie on X: "For years I was called a conspiracy theorist for asking Garland, Wray, and Horowitz whether government assets participated in J6. Yesterday I was vindicated. DOJ IG report confirms there were FBI confidential human sources in the crowd, entering the Capitol, and breaking laws. https://t.co/0spxGu6Wt9" / X (https://x.com/RepThomasMassie/status/1867583133488492787?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5 Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1867583133488492787%7Ctwgr% 5E6117f2bc6df7aea9ef0d76ce0af1ba4b56c76c58%7Ctwcon %5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.newsweek.com%2Fmaga-fbi-january-6-capitol-riot-doj-report-2000858)

4 of them entered the building and 13 entered the restricted area around the building. None of them have been charged .

Although these informants had given details about possible unrest ;none of the information was acted on.
Informants embedded with the Proud Boys claim that have no knowledge that the riot was premeditated. Instead the Proud Boys biggest concern was confronting ANTIFA if they showed up.

Trump sued George Stephanopoulos and ABC for defamation over a report he gave claiming Trump was found liable for rape in the E. Jean Carroll law suit. He wasn't . He was found liable for sexual abuse; a charge he claims is false.

A judge ordered Trump and Stephanopoulos to sit down for 4 hours of deposition for discovery.

The FBI spied on Kash Patel when he was a staffer for Rep Devin Nunes “between September 2017 and March 2018,” . This was a time when Jeff Sessions recused himself from the Russia hoax ;and Andrew McCabe ran roughshod over the DOJ . He compelled Apple and Google and other social media sites to turn over to the FBI private information . They were trying to find out if Congressional staffers were leaking to the compliant press information about the Russia hoax investigation.

Kash was lead council for the Repub Congressional investigation . The FBI got a gag order preventing the sites from informing him that he was under FBI surveillance.

The IG report came out Tuesday . Wednesday FBI Director Chris Wray said he was stepping. down. When Kash becomes FBI director some investigators have some 'splainin' to do .

The coronation (or what we used to call the inauguration) hasn't happened yet, but he's already being feted like a medieval king. And unlike the British monarchy, which has eliminated the paying of tribute to the king, here in America — where we supposedly cast off such practices in our revolution — our new president is busily collecting payments and demanding fealty from his liege lords and foreign allies. And he's making it very clear that he will not be happy if they don't come across with plenty of lucre to fill his royal coffers.

Judge Merchan ;the scumbag partisan judge overseeing the Stormy Daniels case will sentence Trump on January 10 . 10 days before inauguration He is not delaying sentencing . He will proceed and demands that Trump be there physically or virtually .

According to reports he will unconditional discharge Trump . That means that Trump goes into office as a convicted felon ;the record of his conviction would remain on his record.
If Trump attempts to delay then Merchan will delay sentencing until Trump leaves office.

Trump will of course attempt to delay or reverse the Judge's decision.

SCOTUS decided yesterday the Trump can be sentenced by Merchan . Roberts and Barrett sided with the libs 5-4 . Their convoluted logic is that Trump can still appeal .

Meanwhile the libs get what they wanted ;Trump a convicted felon.

Merchan has said that the sentence will be "unconditional discharge " . I'll believe it when I see it . There is nothing to prevent him from sentencing Trump to jail.

In its order denying Trump’s request to halt his sentencing, the court explained that Trump’s complaints regarding the use of evidence of his allegedly official acts could be addressed on appeal. And it added that “the burden that sentencing will impose on the President-Elect’s responsibilities is relatively insubstantial in light of the trial court’s stated intent to impose a sentence of ‘unconditional discharge’ after a brief virtual hearing.”

Supreme Court allows Trump’s New York criminal sentencing to go forward - SCOTUSblog (https://www.scotusblog.com/2025/01/supreme-court-allows-trumps-new-york-criminal-sentencing-to-go-forward/)

Whether the sentencing interferes with his transition prep is not as important as the fact that going into the office as a convicted felon undercuts his authority and will be used as an argument against him .

Meanwhile Fani Willis appealed her disqualification of the Georgia case against Trump to the Georgia Supreme Court .

Roberts I get . He believes in a minimalist role of the court . Barrett evidently fooled Trump . She has more often joined the libs in their decisions . Even when she sides with the conservatives ,the left on the court feed on her questions during hearings to bolster their arguments . It is becoming apparent that she wants to be the so called swing vote ;a role that both Sandra Day O'Conner and Anthony Kennedy played .

I expect that much of what Trump does will be challenged in the court . I also expect you will see this headline often....

'Trump appointed Justice Amy Coney Barrett sides against Trump '

Let's assume that the Georgia case is still up in the air but going nowhere. Jack Smith is leaving his position having his cases against Trump dismissed . AG Garland will release Smith's report about Jan 6 as a final zinger to the incoming President . His report about the doc case has been barred from being released but I have no doubt it will be leaked to the compliant press by someone.

Trump will still have to deal with the civil lawsuits .

That leaves the case that makes Trump the " 1st convicted President .

SCOTUS allowed it to proceed thanks to Barrett and Roberts (I'm not finished with them yet)
Judge Mechan sentence Trump yesterday.......or should I say he gave Trump a non-sentence for a non-crime.
It's a 1st again for Trump because no one has ever been charged/convicted /sentenced for this series of crimes before .

Basically Trump paid a non-disclosure agreement with Stormy Daniels . His bookkeeping entry of the transaction ;which was a misdemeanor at best ;and past the statutes of limitations ; exploded to a conviction of 34 felonies .
What DA Bragg did was couple this with Federal election law that he had no jurisdiction of ;and that the FEC and the Federal prosecutors in the Southern NY district passed on to turn it into 34 separate felony counts .
Bragg knew he would get a conviction based solely on where the trial was being held . He gave the jury convoluted instructions and got the guilty verdict he wanted .

Trump was held under a gag order throughout the process . But that had to be lifted during sentencing and Trump did not hold back .(he was actually more restrained than I would've been) .

Donald Trump delivers statement during sentencing in hush money case (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vP64Okx56sw)

There is only one criminal in this case . It is Judge Merchan. NY law clearly states that if you have a member of your family who stands to profit from a case before you ;you are required to recuse yourself . Instead the biggest part of the gag order imposed on Trump was to prevent him from stating that Merchan's daughter worked for Clueless Joe's and Kam the Sham's campaigns ;the Adam Schiffhead's campaign and the Dem Senatorial committee.

The judge knows that Trump will win easily on appeal . I suspect that is why he played nice nice with Trump during sentencing . He wished Trump"Godspeed" on his 2nd term . You know he does not mean it.

So now Trump enters the White House as someone who can not vote or carry guns in some states . He will be smeared as a convicted felon by the Dems.It remains to be seen how this impacts his 2nd term.

As a final attempt to undermine Trump . The Justice Department released the findings of Jack Smith's investigation of Trump during January 6 . He decided to pass judgement too saying he thinks Trump was guilty . (So much for the presumption of innocence. ) The fact that Trump's co-defendants from the document case (who do not have immunity and their cases continue ) were incidentally mentioned in his release is of no concern. To him, his power includes the power to pass judgement.

As a post mortem to the failed lawfare effort of Trump I offer a warning . It came from Justice Robert H Jackson ;who temporarily left SCOTUS to become the lead prosecutor at the Nurenberg Trials.

He wrote of the danger of over zealous rogue prosectors.

The prosecutor has more control over life, liberty, and reputation than any other person in America. His discretion is tremendous. He can have citizens investigated and, if he is that kind of person, he can have this done to the tune of public statements and veiled or unveiled intimations. Or the prosecutor may choose a more subtle course and simply have a citizen's friends interviewed. The prosecutor can order arrests, present cases to the grand jury in secret session, and on the basis of his one-sided presentation of the facts, can cause the citizen to be indicted and held for trial. He may dismiss the case before trial, in which case the defense never has a chance to be heard. Or he may go on with a public trial. If he obtains a conviction, the prosecutor can still make recommendations as to sentence, as to whether the prisoner should get probation or a suspended sentence, and after he is put away, as to whether he is a fit subject for parole. While the prosecutor at his best is one of the most beneficent forces in our society, when he acts from malice or other base motives, he is one of the worst.

The Friday Night Massacre .

The Trump administration has fired a group of Justice Department prosecutors involved in the 6 January criminal cases and demanded the names of FBI agents involved (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/jan/31/fbi-trump-january-6-justice-department) in those same investigations so they can possibly be ousted.
The jobs of about 24 employees at the US attorney’s office in Washington were terminated late on Friday, said a person familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss personnel issues.

The acting deputy attorney general, Emil Bove, a Trump appointee, ordered the firings, according to a memo obtained by the Associated Press; and in a separate, earlier memo identified more than half a dozen FBI (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/fbi) senior executives who were ordered to retire or be fired by Monday.

Many of them were hired on a temporary basis to prosecute the mostly peaceful protesters of January 6 2021 .
( I agree with Kash Patel that only the ones who were non-violent and did not vandalize should've been pardoned The ones who rioted and attacked Capitol police should've had no mercy granted
Violent Jan 6 rioters should not have been pardoned, says Trump’s FBI director nominee (https://www.yahoo.com/news/violent-jan-6-rioters-not-232555185.html) )

Many prosecutor's were hired on a temporary basis in 2021 . They went on a crusade in Stalinist fashion .In court the defendants were portrayed as domestic terrorists . Many of them did not have the resources to defend themselves and were represented by public defenders .....who frankly did a lousy job (and that's giving them the defenders the benefit of the doubt. )

The prosecutors (many of them originally hired on a temporary basis ) made their case on behalf of the government. They worked with a stacked deck . Knowing they had a judge and jury in their pockets , they made sentencing recommendations to inflict maximum pain and punishment .

This proves that the corruption at the FBI went deeper than the upper brass .
US District Attorney for DC made them permanent in an attempt to make them firing proof. Graves stepped down when Trump was sworn in.

These were the ones fired Friday. Besides being fired Trump's assigned Deputy Director FBI is opening up an investigation into their temporary hiring.

The upper leadership at the agency are also being purged .

Senator Grassley during the Kash Patel hearings tried to make the case that the corruption in the FBI was confined to the top brass in the 7th floor. But apparently it runs much deeper.

Let's put it this way. Almost everyone from the prosecution and many in the Kangaroo court in Congress violate one of more provision of Federal law code 1512

So the FBI handed over the list that Bove demanded on time . They claim only 5,000 agents were involved in the January 6 cases.

FBI turns over details of 5,000 employees who worked on January 6 cases to Trump Justice Department, as agents sue | CNN Politics (https://www.cnn.com/2025/02/04/politics/fbi-employees-tuesday/index.html)

That number has to be severely under reported . There are apx 1,600 defendants over the 4 year investigation and the reports were that if Trump had lost .the investigations would've continued . Wray speculated about 2,000

FBI chasing 2,000 domestic terror cases, Christopher Wray testifies (https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2021/03/02/fbi-director-christopher-wray-face-questions-deadly-capitol-riot/6868467002/)

I'm betting even more were under investigation.

Defendants were claiming that when they were arrested some 20 or more agents were involved in the raids alone. Agents were needed for surveillance and interrogations ,interviews with witnesses and family ,coworkers ,searching social media ,bank records ,travel records etc just to build the cases in field offices around the country ..... and the prosecuting the cases in court .

The questions, obtained by CBS News, ask what role the respondent may have played in any cases, such as acting as an agent, providing management support or collecting online data. The survey also asks if the respondent made any arrests, conducted interviews, participated in search warrants, testified in court or appeared before a grand jury.

So why the lowball number ?

The probable reason is that they don't want the public to know how much FBI manpower and resources went into taking down defendants ;many of who's only crime was being in the Capitol. It may have taken a quarter to a third of the total FBI's efforts while more serious crimes were overlooked.
Merrick Garland calls Justice Department's Jan. 6 probe the 'most wide-ranging investigation in its history' (https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/merrick-garland-not-rule-prosecuting-trump-jan-6-rcna40092)

The Justice Department has told (https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/jan-6-probe-expands-officials-worry-doj-resources-are-breaking-point-rcna40208) Congress that more than $34 million in funding is "critically needed" to fund the investigation.

“The cases are unprecedented in scale and is expected to be among the most complex investigations prosecuted by the Department of Justice,” the Justice Department wrote (https://www.justice.gov/jmd/page/file/1492126/download) to the legislative branch.

DOJ says it needs more money for the Jan. 6 probe. The next spending bill may be its last chance. (https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/doj-says-needs-money-jan-6-probe-spending-bill-may-last-chance-rcna51767)

The compliant press says that if they get fired we will be short handed to tackle real crimes . You mean like the ones they were ignoring in their Inspector Javert zeal to go after J6ers ?

That is a dynamic duo. While Kash has a lawyer background (public defender ,Justice Dept lawyer and assistant to Rep Devin Nunes's Russiagate hoax investigation ) ; .Bongino is a law enforcement expert . He served in the NYPD and Secret Service.

Bongino will lose $ millions in accepting this appointment . His podcast is the top conservative podcast in the nation trailing only NPR News Now and Up First from NPR

When Rush Limbaugh passed away it was Bongino who filled his time slot on most stations that ran Rush's show.

To be honest ;he would serve the administration better if he were to take over Secret Service. But still this is a great addition .

“This is beyond problematic,” said Christopher O’Leary, a former senior FBI official who retired in 2023. “Any hope that Kash could be steered by having experienced leaders around him is out the window. We now have two conspiracy theorists and election deniers running our premier law enforcement and intelligence agency.”
Some current FBI employees, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they are not allowed to talk to reporters, were even more blunt. They said they feared Bongino's appointment spelled the end of an independent FBI and put the bureau’s fearsome investigative and intelligence capabilities in the hands of political actors with radical agendas.

Andrew Weissman who was once a council for the FBI said basically the FBI agents; who are presumably the toughest law enforcement agents in the nation ;who used storm trooper tactics to raid Mar a Lago ;need to be coddled and given an atta boy from their bosses as if they need emotional support pets.

chalk this one up to 'they always accuse you of what they are doing.'

The left media calls this a revenge attempt. Maybe it is ;but a quick look makes me believe there is more legitimacy to this than with what Letitia James charged Trump

She is accused of real estate fraud on a number of occasions .

Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director William Pulte sent the missive to Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy AG Todd Blanche, alleging that James had “falsified records” to get home loans for a property in Virginia that she claimed was her “principal residence” in 2023 — while still serving as a New York state prosecutor.

“Ms. James was the sitting Attorney General of New York and is required by law to have her primary residence in the state of New York — even though her mortgage applications list her intent to have the Norfolk, VA, property as her primary home,” the letter stated.
“It appears Ms. James’ property and mortgage-related misrepresentations may have continued to her recent 2023 Norfolk, VA property purchase in order to secure a lower interest rate and more favorable loan terms.”

In February 2001, James also purchased a five-family dwelling in Brooklyn — but has “consistently misrepresented the same property as only having four units in both building permit applications and numerous mortgage documents and applications,” the letter noted.

Pulte attached several documents also showing that James purchased another property with her father as a co-signer — but falsely listed the pair as “husband and wife” in 1983 and 2000.
“While this was a long time ago, it raises serious concerns about the validity of Ms. James representations on mortgage applications,” he wrote.

She was referred to the DOJ for criminal prosecution.

In her own words
“No matter how big, rich or powerful you think you are, no one is above the law.”
