My husband plays professional basketball and has been caught and has admitted to cheating multiples times with multiple partners. We have two children together. Shortly after our marriage I quit my job to travel with him and eventually become a full-time mom. We reside in North Carolina during the off season, which is where we got married and where we will be getting a divorce. I no longer travel with my husband. The children are settled in daycare and we do many family activities together such as going to church, parks, museums, etc. I have been my children's primary caregiver their entire life. My husband is always gone to training camps, games, etc. He recently threatened me saying that there is a legal way for him to get custody of our children. I do not see how it is possible since the children barely know him and he is traveling more than 10 months out of the year. My husband has access to many resources particularly those of other professional players who have gone through similar situations. Money is not an issue. I can live without money but not without my kids. Is there any way that he can get sole custody of the kids? I will be talking with my lawyer this coming week but I wanted to cover my basis and get insight from multiple sources. Thanks.

He can of course always petition the court for custody, he has that legal right, can he win, most likely not, but again we all see how courts can be influenced by high dollar attorneys and be filled with expert witness after witness. He most likey will get liberal visitation if he want it. But sueing for child support should be a major part of it also, since it is not your money but the kids money he needs to be paying
