He is probably just remembering the good times he had with you. Its not what the dream is about its just the fact he is dreaming about you, perhaps he wants you back? Depending on how long you were together how close you were etc etc, it will always be hard splitting up, it takes time to get over someone. He is bound to still have thoughts about you.

DREAMS do not always mean anything.

Maybe he know he lost something good and wants it back, but if your already broke up why would he share a dream like this unless he is trying to tell you something.

Does it really matter eighter way, unless you do really truly want to be with him again. I think eighter way it is best to keep your distance.

If he is the one that ended it I'm curious as to why he is telling you that he dreams about you. The dream itself shows that he is still thinking about you. But think carefully before getting back with him as he may just change his mind and end it again, hurting you even more.
