No ? Then why did the city fire them ;and send their fingerprints to the FBI as if they were ?

They were branded in their permanent files with a 'problem ' code on their records.

“When the DOE puts a problem code in the employee’s personnel file, it also places a
flag on the employee’s fingerprints, which is then sent to the national databases at
both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the State Division of Criminal Justice
Services,”

Not only will it impact their efforts to get rehired by NYC . The record follows them for every other potential job.

This is the city that put teachers who faced disciplinary hearings in rubber rooms while they still collected pay checks ;some for years .

This month Mayor Adams lifted the city's covid restrictions . Still a total of 1,780 city employees ,including teachers were canned for refusing the vax.

The city says they can reapply for their old jobs with no guarantee of getting it .I imagine teachers with a "problem code " on their record have no chance of rehire.

A number of employees who lost positions in the NYPD, FDNY, Department of Education, Department of Health and other agencies filed lawsuits opposing the rule since the mandate was first announced in 2021. But they were hopeful of getting their jobs back with the same pay, seniority and benefits after hearing the mayor lifted the mandate.

This is just another example how governments used the pandemic as an excuse for inexcusable over-reach.

On a more positive note....

“With more than 96 percent of city workers and more than 80 percent of New Yorkers having received their primary COVID-19 series and more tools readily available to keep us healthy, this is the right moment for this decision,” Adams said in a statement (https://www.nyc.gov/office-of-the-mayor/news/092-23/with-96-percent-city-workers-fully-vaccinated-mayor-adams-covid-19-vaccination). “I continue to urge every New Yorker to get vaccinated, get boosted, and take the necessary steps to protect themselves and those around them from COVID-19.”
Citing the high rate of vaccination among city staffers, Adams and other city officials touted the policy as a lifesaving measure that helped protect workers throughout the pandemic. The mandate shift is a major step in the city drawing back its coronavirus protections and is expected to be adopted at a Board of Health meeting this week.

"It’s clear these mandates saved lives and were absolutely necessary to meet the moment,” said New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Commissioner Ashwin Vasan in the statement. “We’re grateful that we can now, as we leave the emergency phase of the pandemic, modify more of the rules that have gotten us to this point.”

Officials also pointed to the broad vaccination of all city residents, noting that more than 80 percent of New Yorkers have received their initial two vaccinations.

Then why did the city fire them ;and send their fingerprints to the FBI as if they were ?Just amazing considering that NY employs a small army of teachers that are too unproductive to actually have children entrusted to them, and so they just come to work and do...nothing all day long. They are paid just like the others who actually work.

So you can be a lousy teacher and continue to draw a salary, and yet the sinister crime of choosing not to be vaxed can put you on the road?

It is a gross abuse of power to put the names of teachers who refused to be vaxed on FBI’s and the New York criminal justice system’s database of people suspected of criminal activity .

He kept covid controls in place , while he simultaneously begged private sector employers and employees to return to the pre-covid status quo. Only when he found that wasn't working did he end restrictions. Adams is a huge disappointment to date .
