Companies are not required to give a Hardship Withdrawal to Employees. Generally speaking, if it is part of your plan, then there are two types of processes, one where you have to provide information about the qualifying reason, or a personal certification from you.

You will need to speak to HR, or your company's designated Plan Administrator to find out what is required.

Of course,I am sure you are already aware of the penalties for taking this money before retirement, and since you are facing eviction, you know it is only for emergencies.

A lot of companies will prevent you from saving future dollars after a hardship withdrawal for a specified period as well.
