I worked for a large retail company where I worked as a manager and I stole money almost at the 5000 dollar amount.. it was 4 transactions.. I have a newborn daughter and my wife, my daughter and I were living outside of our means. That's what brought me to do it. I had a case 4 years ago when I was really young for taking 50 dolalrs from a till and got a conditional discharge. That case when I was younger really shook me up and I vowed never to do it again. But under different circumstances I find myself back at square one but now with a family and a reputation to try and protect. I am guilty for sure and I'm aware that my employer knows although I have yet to show to work. Im very scared again, am in disbelief and very remorseful that I made the same mistakes I made in the past. I have consulted a lawyer and am playing the waiting game at the moment until the police come to my door. What can I expect this time around? What have I gotten myself into? And what's the best possible outcome for me? Please help!

Talk to your attorney, let him ( if he agrees) talk to your business place and see if a deal can be worked out without criminal charges.
Many firms will not always press charges since they don't want to make public the problems within their business.
