NFL came up with a completely sham interview process called the 'Rooney Rule ' that requires teams to have a diverse interview process before hiring a Head Coach . The idea was that more Black candidates would lead to more Black Head Coaches .

How is that working out ? The hiring process is not complete yet. But as of today there is a total of 1 Black Head Coach.

Brian Flores was the Coach of the Miami Dolphins . After a bad first year ;where evidently the Dolphins intentionally had the worse record in the league so they could get the most prized college player , he then led them to their first back to back winning seasons in years. Then he got fired .

He should've been a prize candidate to coach a team next year . But all he got was an interview in Denver so the Broncos could satisfy the 'Rooney Rule . They had no intention of hiring him and neither did the NY Giants .

This is systemic collusion to exclude Blacks .
The proof of this is that the slimy Head Coach of the New England Patriots ,Bill BeliCHEAT knew in advance that Flores was not going to get the Giants HC job before Flores ever interviewed for it .

But he texted Flores congratulating him for the hire . He accidently texted Brian Flores when he meant to text Brian Daboll who the Giants had hired. Like the Broncos ,the Flores interview with the Giants was only intended to satisfy the sham Rooney rule .

I hope Flores wins this suit on all counts . The NFL has had exclusionary hiring practices for Head Coaching positions . They tolerate having a few Black Head Coaches at a time .

I'm not saying the coaches they have hired are without merit . In this case however the charge has been proven

I'm not saying the coaches they have hired are without merit . In this case however the charge has been proven.I think you are making a classic mistake. You are confusing data with evidence. The data certainly shows that NFL teams tend to not hire black head coaches, but you would need evidence to show that there is some sort of well-hidden conspiracy in the ranks of NFL execs to exclude black head coaches. Appearances don't make a case. That's especially true when you admit that they are not hiring a bunch of unqualified people in lieu of hiring qualified black coaches. But we'll see. Perhaps they will find memos discussing an anti-black bias. Could be. At any rate, I don't follow the NFL anymore since they decided that kneeling for the national anthem was acceptable behavior. If the whole thing crashes and burns, I will not mourn its demise.

I had suspicions before this incident . The text by Belichick to me is the smoking gun. It is clear from his text that the Giants ' hiring was predetermined and that they went through the motions to satisfy discrimination accusations . I'm sure that discovery as well as data will prove that the practice is systemic. Besides the fact that there is only one Black HC . The other data is the revolving door and shuffling of HC that under perform and get hired by other teams .

The data confirms that the Rooney rule is ineffective. The suit will determine if that is just a coincidence. If the rule is meant to be a cover to justify the exclusion of coaches based on race then he will win.

It could very well turn out as you have suggested, but it's just hard to imagine that the NFL that embraced the whole kneeling protest deal would secretly have a prejudiced position against black head coaches. The players are practically all black. It's just hard to imagine that there is a hidden practice that would exclude potentially successful black head coaches in a league where winning is big money.

Let's look at Houston . They hired David Culley last year to coach the team as the only Black HC hired . Then they released JJ Watt 3 times defensive MVP. They then put their best QB Deshawn Watson and had him ride the bench the whole season. Their record was 4-13 ...bad by anyone's standard . But it was the same record as the previous year when HC Bill O'brien had the same record with those star players .
Culley outperformed the previous HC

When pressed why Culley was fired , the GM vaguely said “It’s not necessarily one specific thing”.

The truth is that Houston set up Culley for failure ;as Miami did with Flores his 1st year . Flores had 2 winning records after that . He was fired while many other HCs with worse records were retained . Dan Cambell is HC of the Lions . They have the worse record this year but he is being retained . The Giants have had 5 terrible losing seasons .They are now on the 3rd hiring of a HC in that time. Their pick is potentially a good one . But Daboll is unproven as a HC while Flores had 2 of 3 years of success.

Not only that ; Houston is considering hiring Josh McCown as HC .They considered him last year too before hiring Culley . McCown's only coaching experience was a High School team. The speculation is that he was their 1st choice last year . But they hired Culley instead because they did not want the negative backlash about hiring the inexperienced White HC over the more experienced Black one .

Anyway this will all play out in court .If I go by the NFL record in court they should come out well . Technically they don't have anti-trust exemptions. But defacto they do.

Maybe it's true, but you would need some pretty convincing evidence to show that.

As a lifelong Giants fan it gives me no pleasure of saying it .

NFL hired the emperor's AG Loretta Lynch to represent them in the lawsuit by Flores.

Lynch was AG when the FBI ran an intel op against candidate Trump for the benefit of the Evita campaign .
At the same time she met with former President Bubba on an airport tarmac and <unconfirmed> made a deal with him to not prosecute Evita </unconfirmed > . James Comey later held a press conference where he laid out a criminal case against Evita before making the absurd claim that no "reasonable " prosecutor would charge her .
