With Georgia's economy growing and healthy as evidenced by unemployment at a record low of 3.1%, the famous porn-author, Stacey Abrams, has announced she will run again for governor. What can she possibly offer the voters of Georgia? She has no track record of success, and her only talking point is the usual pleadings about racism. Why on earth would anyone vote for her?

but but but .............she is the self declared Guv in exile .
The Dems will go all out because it was largely her effort that got Georgia 2 Dem Senate seats and giving the pseudo-majority in the Senate to the Dems. It remains to be seen if the voters of the state wake up ;and despite all their moaning , the new voting laws favor the Dems and are not "Jim Crow on steroids "

I'm a Republican. Is/was she a good writer? Steamy romance novels, like those of my childhood friend, Elizabeth St. Michel!!! Yay!!!

I found four on Amazon! I bought one, Hidden Sins. Synopsis (wow! sounds so filthy!):

"Mara Reed has been stirring up trouble since she was eighteen—running scams, living on the edge, always on the run. Now, when two thugs are after her with murder on their minds, she’s forced into hiding in her small Texas hometown. But as she’s cornered in an alley, only seconds from death, an unexpected rescuer comes to her aid…

A forensic anthropologist, Dr. Ethan Stuart is investigating a gruesome discovery—nearly one hundred dead bodies dating back fifty years—a mystery linked to the church once headed by Mara’s father. Ethan needs Mara’s help; she needs his protection. Their search for a shocking, devastating truth could lead them to forgiveness and salvation... if they survive."

Even Abrams (a.k.a. Selena Montgomery, her porn pseudonym) knows it's porn.

When Colbert revealed that he had brought an excerpt from one of the novels with him, Abrams let out an, “Oh dear God.” Then, as he prepared to read the sections that CBS Standards and Practices said were acceptable, she asked, “Can I leave now?”“If you’re going to write a romance novel, make it a bodice-ripper,” Colbert said, asking her if she had a preference as to which one he chose.
“God no, I don’t want you to read any of these,” she replied. “I want people to read them in the quiet of their home.”

But he proceeded anyway, reading aloud from the 2009 novel Reckless (https://amzn.to/2HYrtRf): “Softly, inexorably he tested the contours of her lips, the damp heat urging him inside,” he read. “Reaching for Patience, Luke sank down into the chair she’d abandoned and settled her across his lap. Her eyes fluttered open, her fingers clutched at his shoulders. When she tugged him closer, Patience fled.”

So enjoy your porn book!

Why is porn a sin?

"You like porn." You make me laugh out loud sometimes. I'm sure an ol' southern boy like you has seen and read far more porn than I have.

I've liked Stacy for a long time, long before I knew she is an author, which endears her to me even more!

Despite her hobby of writing smut, she is a very effective community organizer. Clueless Joe owes her a lot, because her efforts helped him win the state (those late-night finding ballots under the tables after counting was suspended and Republican counters were sent home for the night) ...... But also, by finding the votes to get 2 Georgia Dem Senators, she changed the majority in the Senate.

Clueless Joe probably should've offered her Veep instead of Kam the Sham. But by not offering her the job, he stumbled on the right move politically because she was free to do what she does best......grass roots organizing.

I think Kemp will have a difficult time defeating Abrams this time. The new Georgia voting rules favor her despite the rhetoric that it is rigged in favor of Republicans (so called voter suppression). Also, her becoming a Guv checks off another box in that she would become the first Black Female Guv . As you know; checking those boxes are much more important than other concerns like a good economy.

Also, Trump is kneecapping Kemp by endorsing David Perdue in the Rep primary.

Trump’s Georgia Vendetta - WSJ (https://www.wsj.com/articles/donald-trumps-georgia-vendetta-stacey-abrams-david-perdue-brian-kemp-11638835818?mod=opinion_lead_pos2)

Trump has had it in for Kemp because he could not stop a Dem victory in the state in 2020.It is not clear that Perdue will run. But Trump's rhetoric is harming Kemp's chances. Trump has gone so far as to say that Kemp could only win if the election is rigged. He should know that such a comment cannot help Republican chances in the state. Trump said "the MAGA base will just not vote for [Kemp] after what he did with respect to Election Integrity and two horribly run elections, for President and then two Senate seats".

Trump-backed Perdue challenges Kemp in Georgia GOP primary | PBS NewsHour (https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/trump-backed-perdue-challenges-kemp-in-georgia-gop-primary)

Statements like that could hurt Republican turn out which of course would benefit Abrams. September Trump made the vindictive statement that maybe Abrams would be a better Guv than Kemp.

Trump at Georgia rally: Abrams would be a better governor than Kemp (wjcl.com) (https://www.wjcl.com/article/donald-trump-brian-kemp-stacey-abrams/37770005#)

Repubs should pray that Kemp doesn't face a primary challenge.
The better scenario for the Repubs would be for Kemp to not have to waste resources fighting off a primary challenge while the Dems pour $$$ from all over the country into an Abrams effort in defeating a popular Repub Guv in a presumably Repub state (similar to Beto's attempt to take out Cruz)

IF Abrams wins, she then will immediately be a top tier Dem in 2024 to replace Clueless Joe.That is what is at stake for the Repubs . Perdue says he wants to run to make sure Abrams doesn't win. He has it backwards. If he wants to help defeat Abrams he should drop out .

2022 is looking to be a Repub wave. But internal squabbling in the Repub ranks could make it less of a wave as it could be. Besides this Kemp Perdue rift that could lead to an Abrams victory ,we have a Repub split that is based on a pro and anti -Trump divide. Trump has recruited a challenger to GA Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger who he considers a "traitor ".

Trump endorses challenger against Georgia elections chief Brad Raffensperger | PBS NewsHour (https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/trump-endorses-challenger-against-georgia-elections-chief-brad-raffensperger)

Popular Rep Dan Crenshaw of Texas took on the whole Repub House 'Freedom Caucus " calling them grifters and performance artists . Among the Reps he ripped are Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan, and Louie Gohmert.... all popular with the Trump base .

GOP Rep. Dan Crenshaw derides House Freedom Caucus: 'Grifters' and 'performance artists' | Fox News (https://www.foxnews.com/politics/dan-crenshaw-slams-house-freedom-caucus-calling-them-performance-artists)

There are plenty of other examples . MTG vs SC Rep Nancy Mace ;Trump v Yertle ;the Repub base v Liz Cheney;Trump v Ariz Guv Ducey ;Ohio Guv Mike DeWine is facing a Trump supported challenger . None of this helps Repub chances

IF Abrams wins, she then will immediately be a top tier Dem in 2024 to replace Clueless JoeWhat an incredible scenario. Biden, who has no track record of success despite being, or perhaps because of being, a senator for decades, running against a woman who also has accomplished nothing other than writing (under a pseudonym) several porn books. So the dems can pick between two non-achievers in addition to a third non-achiever in KH. What a world we live in. We are getting what we deserve.

Ben Carson. One of the most accomplished pediatric brain surgeons on the planet with a lengthy and productive career. He does not write porn novels.

Mike Pence was the gov of Indiana. Unlike senators, governors have to actually govern. Showed some courage in confirming the election for Biden against the wishes of Trump. But he has never written a porn novel so Abrams has him there.

Nikki Haley was the first female governor of SC and also was an ambassador to the U.N., both positions which require making decisions and actually doing things. However, K. Harris definitely has the advantage over her in the area of sleeping with a political bigwig to be followed by her appointment to a political position.

Ted Cruz. Can he write? Well consider these. (Note: Writing porn novels is not on this list.)
