Sec Labor Marty Walsh ;is a former mayor of Bean town ;and a former union chief of Boston's police union. The former chief of the Boston police union, Patrick Rose, was arrested on 33 counts of sexually abusing children.
Patrick Rose Child Sex Abuse Allegations: Boston Police Files Released – NBC Boston (https://www.nbcboston.com/news/local/boston-police-files-on-ex-officers-abuse-allegation-to-be-released-tuesday/2359558/)

There are credible allegations that many Bean town officials knew what he was doing and are complicit in a coverup . He was charged in 1995 on a single case ,but the charges were dropped . Yet internal affairs and state child welfare investigators found the charges credible .

1997 an attorney for the police union sent a letter to the police commissioner complaining that Rose had been restricted to administrative duty for two years and threatened to file a grievance. Rose was then reinstated as a patrol officer and allowed contact with children.

He went on to sexually abuse at least 5 more children, including when he was union president from 2014-2017. Trial is pending

The Boston Globe requested the internal affairs file . But the Walsh admiration balked claiming lame excuse that the records could not be redacted in a way that would satisfy privacy concerns; something the state supervisor of public records refuted .

Acting Mayor Kim Janey, finally released a redacted version on April 20, but only after Walsh was confirmed as Labor secretary. This means the Rose story was known during Walsh’s Senate confirmation hearing. The compliant press knows of Walsh's coverup. Evidently it will not make the front pages as Trump's Labor Sec Alex Acosta received for failing to prosecute Jeffrey Epstein.

Walsh's time as a Bean town pol was known and his time was full of scandal and corruption. Too many examples to detail in this post . Yet the Senate confirmed him with a 68–29 vote . 18 Repubs voted to confirm.

Clueless Joe picked Walsh for the job because Walsh is a public union man. As mayor he showered unions with taxpayer money .One of the jobs as Labor Sec is to oversee unions rules, ethics and transparency. Don't hold your breath.
