Fakebook and it's kindred of Cain shut down for hours yesterday a day before a whistleblower is to testify before the Senate Consumer Protection subcommittee about how these popular social media sites manipulate their users , and often causes harm to teens and pre-teens . Coincidence ?

Francis Haugen provided plenty of documentary evidence to WSJ that FB knows their model ,and in particular Instagram , harms the mental health of children ,and does nothing to prevent it . Repeated internal studies reveal that they know Instagram's photo sharing is harmful to young users ;especially teen girls .

Haguen is a progressive woke disciple . But she has limits when it comes to harming children . She has reached her limit and is opening up the internals of the FB enterprise for the world to see . It is not pretty .

Zuckerberg's platform will not tolerate political or popular thought he does not agree with . But he allows his platform to "promote human trafficking and domestic servitude." One of her whistleblower complaints is that Zuckerberg misled members of Congress in March when he testified about FB and Instagram's effect on the health of young girls.

She filed complaints to the SEC stating that FB for years past and ongoing, violated U.S. securities laws by making material misrepresentations and omissions in statements to investors and prospective investors, and to Congress.

Zuckerberg's platform will not tolerate political or popular thought he does not agree with .As it turns out, that's fairly typical.

FB's clearly using politically motivated policies as is Twitter. Starting with Donald Trump, the list continues through a variety of conservative voices. The message is clear. "Disagree with us and we'll silence you." It reminds me of the concepts of hate speech and hate crimes. Who gets to decide what amounts to "hate"?

I don't expect much to come from Haugen's testimony. By means of comparison, a parent by the name of Stacy Langton testified recently at the Fairfax County School Board meeting about two books in the school library which not only spoke of oral sex between men and boys, but even had pictures of the activity. The school board pres proceeded to shut her down since, she said, there were children present at the meeting. It seemed to completely escape her that the books were in a library where children could read them. There was no outrage expressed by any of the school board members and no promises of immediate action to clear the library of such books. Such is much of our country now. Child porn is present in school libraries including books which are advocating for the sexual abuse of children, and no action is deemed necessary. The libraries will simply be allowed to continue as moral cesspools, now being reinforced by the Biden admin's decision to sic the Justice Department on people who dare to stand up at school board meetings and express their contrary opinions. The message to Ms. Langton ended up being, "Thanks for nothing. Now keep your mouth shut or we'll investigate you."

So good luck to Ms. Haugen. I imagine her testimony will be duly listened to and noted, and that will be the end of that. The Congress is too busy considering the 250 billion dollars of infrastructure improvement contained in the 3.5 trillion dollar infrastructure bill.

Putting reigns on the abuses of hi tech is possibly the one issue that could get a bipartisan reaction .Both sides of the aisle are in the mood to clip their wings . And the one issue that the woke crowd is queasy and sensitive about is child abuse.
