I inherited a printer, HP Laserjet 1320, and downloaded drivers from the HP site.
The plug and play driver wouldn't install (I use Windows XP). So I downloaded the PCL 6 drivers and unzipped the file. But there is no exe file and I haven't a clue what to do to install. No IT literate friends around. Help!

is it a USB printer? If so - make sure you install the drivers before plugging the printer in
so if you've already installed the drives uninstall them, plug in the printer & it should recognise it

if its not a USB printer, or if the above doesn't work, with those PCL drivers you downloaded go to your control panel -printers and faxes
on the left click 'add a printer'

Local Printer (uncheck the automatically detect option) - next
Port = (Choose port, if its USB you should see USB if not, use LPT1)
next it will ask you for drivers - click HAVE DISC
and point it to the location where you have unzipped the drivers.

of course, I'm assuming you are using Windows XP
