Steve Schmidt is a long-time (decades) strategist for the Republican Party dealing at the highest levels in politics and presidential campaigns. Today, June 21, Schmidt renounced his party affiliation and urged voters to vote for the Democratic Party in November.

Global migration exists because of war and disruption. The people of Syria and Iraq didn't want to go to Europe, but circumstances forced them to look elsewhere. It's starting to look like establishment repubs are becoming independents and voting with the dems right now. The Dufus isn't on the ballot and politics tends to be local.
