Speaker Ryan votes for the largest UNFUNDED budget in history. The budget is a massive tax cut for the wealthy. Ryan lies that it's a tax cut for the middle class. The world wonders.
Speaker Ryan, a few days later, calls for cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. The reason being is the debt is too high - THAT IS THE SAME DEBT HE JUST VOTED TO INCREASE THAT WAS THE LARGEST IN HISTORY (SEE ABOVE). Did he really say that? Yes!
Speaker Ryan announces his retirement after proclaiming he has done what he came to Congress to do. HE HAS DONE NOTHING OF THE SORT. The man is delusional.
Speaker Ryan fires the House chaplain - a Jesuit priest. He refuses to say why. The Democrats, outraged, DEMAND an investigation. The Republicans deny any investigation. Maybe the good padre was fired because he spoke about Christ's admonition to care for the "least among us", to succor the poor and sick, "to bind the wounds of the broken-hearted" - you know, all that Gospel stuff. That's what Christian chaplains are supposed to do. That's their job. Ryan, a "devout" Catholic, doesn't see it that way. He thinks Christ came for the rich and powerful. To make them more rich and more powerful.
Ryan and his ilk are turning this once-great nation into a house of shame. The world wonders - and waits.
Late breaking news: Trump's Ben Carson (a nutcase if ever there was one) is proposing to TRIPLE the amount of money the poorest of the poor must pay for housing. This is right after the Republicans gave the huge tax cut to the wealthy and to corporations (see above). It's become a parody of what a bottomlessly cruel Republican Administration can be and do.
