This is a good lesson to anyone sleeping with a married man. If he hasn't divorced the wife, you're just a side piece, a bit of fun, a roll in the hay. Sorry if that sounds harsh but the truth often is. If he really wanted to be with you he would have divorced her. The fact that he didn't, speaks volumes. It really shouldn't be a shock that he went back to the woman he married, the woman he made a commitment to, the women he made vows with, the woman he made a life with.

Find someone that's available, someone that wants to be with you and only you. Dating a married man will only lead to pain and heartache.
