On the first w2 received all the wage boxes were exactly the same. Federal, State, local, medicare, ssi, etc. My company has issued a correct w2 and it is only showing a correction to my federal medicare, ssi wages and that went up 30+ dollars. How is this possible?

There could be any number of reasons, which include:
- typo when calculating the W-2 wage
- last-second decision to add a reimbursement as taxable income
- addition of life insurance as taxable wage
- reimbursement of moving costs
There are multiple other possibilities.
This is a relatively SMALL amount of money added to your wage, but if you REALLY want to know, call your employer's payroll department and ASK!
