Particularly if you've done a LOT of arguing about anything. He definitely doesn't sound all that into you. And that's speaking AS a guy.

I have to be honest as I have no clue if he will be "back" or not. Heck he doesn't know either. Obviously you two have ISSUES but without knowing what they are, your ages, and how long you have been together, then all I can say is you hope for the best but plan for the worst.

Care to share that important background information? I'm a guy, and a break, is a break up to me and all commitments, promises and titles are OFF. We are both single and free to do our own thing anyway we see fit. Just me though. Now you can hold your breathe and see if he is ready to reboot this thing and deal with whatever, but I sure would not and give him all the time and space he needs but I believe in such situations as this you should do what's healthy for yourself and NOT the relationship or ex.

That's why more information is needed for a better suggestion. You can't even tell if you were dumped forever, or just put off so he can sort himself for a few days, can you? Either way sucks!
