I have an X10 dimmer module that I just got. I am currently replacing a 4 way switch. The current 4 way switch has 4 total wires. 2 wires go into the input and the other 2 go into the output. The X-10 module has 3 wires. How do I know where the 4 wires to the X-10 module go? The new X-10 module has 3 wires labeled LINE, LOAD and SLAVE/COMPANION SWITCH. I also ordered 2 more X-10 companion module for the other 2 switches for a total of 3 switches. They are labeled LIVE, LIVE and SWITCH. I would really appreciate any help as I am new to this. Thank you.

It sounds to me like the X-10 modules are meant to be used as 3 way switches. I can't figure out how they could be made to work as 4 ways. See if the vendor can give you more info. One other thing would be to go to switch that has the incoming power feed. Connect the first X-10 module between the power feed and that switch. Then all the old switches can do the on/off and the one module do the dimming.

Here is a link of my product. I currently have 1 4 way switch and 2 3-way switches. Can I connect 1 of the new X-10 switch to one of the two 3 way swicthes that I currently have. How do I know which one?

Thank you.
