Hello,
We are having a problem with the a/c pipe freezing when the air is on. It starts from the cental air unit all the way to the furnace. We had a repairman look at it and he said there was a slow leak, but nothing to worry about.
Can anyone help?

Yep sounds like your system could be low on refrigerant or a dirty filter/evaporator. Looks like you will have to call the service man back to effect a repair.

How long does it take from the time you turn on the AC before you see ice build up? Is your blower running at the correct speed? As hvac1000 stated, when was the last time you cleaned the evap. Coil?

We moved into the house about a year and a half ago and the unit was supposed to be brand new. It takes a few hours and the pipe is completely frozen.

It could be a lot of things, low on refrigerant, dirty filter, dirty evaporator coil, fan not running fast enough, return air blocked by something, or the condensing unit could be to big and not properly matched with the air handler unit. You most likely will need to call a professional service tech.
