I have a big lilac bush that looks healthy but it has very few blooms only about two in the spring.

Any suggestions in getting more blooms would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Lilac bushes are basically weeds. If it is in a damp environment and is old then it is a root problem. Try trimming it down to encourage new growth

Depends where you live too. Lilacs are very temperature dependent. If too warm, regular French Lilacs won't bloom, you need something like Miss Kim, Korean Lilac. French don't bloom in Atlanta.

Did you trim away last year's blooms? I've noticed that there are no new blooms on my branches if the old ones aren't trimmed off. Also, lilacs, at least from what I've been told, only last about 20 years. I have some older than that, but a lot died around the 20 year mark.
