My boyfriend just started getting really bad headaches for about two weeks now. He thought it was his teeth so he went to the dentist and they took x-rays and found nothing. They also found out that nothing is hurt in his jaw but his pain is coming from the left side of his face and is giving him headaches. He is trying medicine for migraines but that's not working either. He has pain that comes and goes on the left side of his face. Mostly near his tooth and temple area. He doesn't have a fever and is not sick to his stomach. He has no systoms, just pain. I was just wondering if anyone has had this pain or if anyone knows what we can try because going to a doctor isn't really an option.

I am not a professional by any means but it sounds like he might have sinus congestion. Has he tried anything for that? Personally, I like Mucinex D. If he tries that just make sure he drinks a lot of water. You can ask a pharmacist what might be best for him. Allergies can cause headaches and this is the perfect time of year for that. Like I said I'm not a professional-just a suggestion.

Well, I'd probably rule out migraines. About 99 percent of folks who have them don't actually have them--they have cluster headaches instead. And more females than males get them. The only guy who would really be able to tell you, though, is a neurologist. Which migraine medicine did you try? OTCs aren't that great (in my opinion). I suffer from migraines, but sometimes the meds don't work.

Does he not have insurance? Just curious, as you said the doc was not an option. But the dentist was? You could probably see a general family doc for 60 bucks or so...
