My wife's elliptical machine's fan only starts/cranks in all three speeds and will not run and dies after cranking. I tried/purchased a new fan and encountered the same result. Could this be the electronic board (diode/capacitor)? The fan is a small 12v DC brushless motor type.

Can anyone out there shed some light on this for me?

Thanks,
RRX

No expert on these, but it does sound like it might be the main board. Try tracing the wiring, I bet it goes back to it.

If it only runs when cranking? Is that pedaling? Pedaling may charge/produce power. Or maybe a Low Battery or Power supply problem. More info?

Without an ohmmeter you're just guessing at the problem.

No, it is powered by 120. No pedaling involved.

Can you provide a Model Number? I thought they were like exercise machines. Sounds like you sit one it and it moves your legs? If so. I would probably unplug and get a better workout. I tend to do things the hard way. Is Cranking similar to Pedaling.
I can troubleshoot most things, need to know more, I have been fortunate? To not need one, My Job gives me a workout. Model Number? Thanks
