Hello every one. I have a 94 accord with 148k miles. First thing first, some days ago it started surging up/down at mornings I know how to fix that I just have short of time. Today after I hot off work and coming home in a stuck freeway, after about 15 stop and forth the rpms dropped to cero but the car didn't stall. I drove like that for about 10 minutes till the temp needle started rising up so I pulled over to the shoulder. With the needle almost in the red zone the car finally stalled. I started and it just started good but when I put first speed to run the transmission just slipped. I open the hood and put water in the radiator so the temp went down. After doing that I tried again to run it and it did it just fine. Any ideas?

The easiest thing to do is check fluid levels in the tranny. Sounds like you could stand some maintenance.

If the radiator overheated, the transmission fluid may have thinned out quite a bit. Fluid is cooled by the radiator.

That's what I thought too. I changed the filter and oil to the transmission, I flushed my radiator and pour new antifreeze into it, and I changed all the water hoses. I will try it tomortow in the traffic hoping this helps with the temperature getting hot.
