I have a Delta Monitor 1700 series shower faucet that I am having 2 problems with. I replaced the springs & washers on it and it's not been the same since.Problem 1; I repaired the faucet that was dripping by replacing the springs & washers. Now the on/off handle will spin 360 degrees. Wherever it stops spinning becomes either the new "full on" position or the new "off" position, depending on which way I spin it. So I can essentially move on off to the upper left quadrant, lower left quadrant, lower right quadrant, or upper right (where it should be).Problem 2; I used to be able to turn on the faucet just a little bit for a trickle and have the temperature be either hot or cold for the trickle. Now when I turn it on to trickle, it's only cold, even if I have it on the hottest setting it will allow. And I have the same shower faucet in my master bath and it will trickle hot water if I have it on hot setting and only barely open it.Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I have the product manual & diagram for it I just can't figure out what I need to do to fix these problems.

1. The handle is spinning around because of one of two things have happened: First, there is a "stop" ring under the handle. You either lost it, or it is not pushed "in" all the, allowing handle to spin 360 degrees. Second, each cartridge, or Delta ball, has a groove and peg that need to go into each other - then be secured by a nut, that fits over the cartridge ( or Delta ball ). Recheck your installation

2. That Delta faucet in question is a Pressure Balanced & Temperature controlled faucet. When you open faucet by turning its handle CCW, you will start with COLD water and medium flow, in the middle you will get mix of HOT and COLD with full and best water flow, and when you continue to HOT side, hot water will be only a trickle. That trickle indicates the Temperature Control feature is working as it is attempting to draw cold water to balance temperature to 120 degrees - but not enough cold water is not available. Thus, the trickle to protect the user from scalding

In any case, as suggested above, call Delta. They have quite a good Customer Service

Hope that explains
