I just got a one year old beagle and she was in heat when I got her. I have every inention of getting her "fixed". The problem is I think she may have gotten pregnant. I didn't inform myself enough about how secluded she needed to be during heat. My question is she stopped bleading on the 15th of march and now a month later should she be showing? I know the vet can do an x ray to tell in a couple of weeks but is there a way to tell sooner? Thank you for any help:)

The vet should be able to tell by now. It is cheaper, but less accurate to palpitate her. I hope you have already had the vet examine her. Even if she isn't pregnant, she could be injured or infected if accidentally bred.
I continually warn people about females making creative, strenuous efforts to get loose and get to a male. Unfortunately, too many people aren't ready to care for a female in heat. Whether she is pregnant or not, I hope you spay her as soon as the vet is willing to go ahead. Otherwise, you will be going through this all again in October.

She has been to the vet on a regular basis and is current on all her shots. What is palpitateing?

Palpitating is just a fancy word for "using your hands to feel the dog's insides through her skin and muscle". When you are at the vet and you see them sort of poking and prodding at your dog, feeling their belly, etc. that's palpitating. Depending on how far along she is, a vet can try and see if they feel any puppies in her.
