Is the bath tub drain line open in a basement or crawl space?

Hi Gewi

You connect into the drain line downstream of the tub waste AND the tub vent. Once you connect into the drain you'll also need to install a new vent for the washing machine drain. Here, the shear volume and velocity of the water discharge from today's newer washing machines can siphon the tub drain Ptrap and allow sewer gasses to enter the home. Installing a separate vent for the new washer drain will eliminate any concerns about this issue. Note, you can connect the new washer vent into the existing tub vent at about 42" off the floor ( or higher).

A connection is made below floor level where you can access the drain line. This is better left to the professional. You haven't specified where the bathroom is located, how access might be made or why you need to do this
