I have a 1862 dollar note me and my wife would like to know how much it is worth it is in excellent condition

Can you post a picture, or at least tell us what it says on the front?

Probably a Confererate bill. Many are just copies, particularly if in excellent condition.

If it is real, (so many fakes now adays) a one dollar bill from "United States" would be work up to about 800 dollars retail,
If it is from one of the states (states issued their own money then) most of them are in the 100 to 400 dollar range,
If it is a confederate dollar they are worth about 10 to 50 dollars.
