I'd like to pick someone's brain please. Del have some good deals on in the UK at the moment. If I buy Del do I have to use their own printers etc? It also offers Tiscali broadband, I don't want Tiscali I have my own ISP. Are these daft questions? Thanks for your patience if they are.

Tell Del you have your own ISP.All they are offering is a promotional deal.I use Telewest broadband,if Del told me I'd have to use Tiscali, otherwise they would not sell me a PC,I'd take my money to PC World. No,Dell will not tell you what to do,as they are a reputable company, with years of experience. You don't have to have a printer off them, but if they include it in the price of your intended purchase, then I'd accept it.

Your question is not daft, asking advice is sensible.

All the best,
Nez. :)

Thanks for your reply Nez. I can still carry on with NTL then, other question someone told me (I thought) that only dell printers work with their computers. I am OK with my Epson R200 then. Thank you sir.

Blue,

Printers are standard. As long as the printer is supported by the operating system it will work with the computer. Dell would not last very long if you had to buy only their printers. Dell's computers and prices aren't that great that people would stand for that. This also goes for most peripherals. Back when IBM created the first PC, they used an open architecture so that third parties could make peripherals for their PCs.

The same thing goes for ISPs. Whether you use dialup or broadband you can connect to any service as long as they support your version of Windows.

Yes that's true, you can use a HP printer on a dell, or any name brand printer if it supports windows. Many can go on many different versions of windows to

Hi,
Dell computers can use any printer you wish.
Usually, computers are sold in a "package", including a printer, scanner maybe, etc.
Ask what the price is just for the computer.
You can also use any dial-up, whatever, way of connecting to the internet.
Best wishes,
