Of course I am so last minute... anyways, my payroll company messed up my W2 and I need help figuring out what info is right and wrong on here. (They will not be able to get me a correct W2 until after the tax deadline.)
I work in NJ and live in NYC so I have two W2s and I am told my NY w2 is wrong. It looks like something minor but if someone can confirm...
My NJ W2 has numbers reported in boxes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 16, and 17. While my NY W2 only had numbers reported in boxes 16, 17, 18, and 19 - meaning I have no federal, ss, or medicare tax withheld on NY. Is this normal?
Also, on my NY in "w2 Summary" they are subtracting something called "Less Not Subject" from my gross pay and using that number in box 18 under "local wages tips.. )
Help!
