Where can I find a replacement SMC ceiling fan blade attachment bracket for model U42.

SMC are typically lower price point fans for big box stores. You can check the end caps at Home Depot or Lowe's. However, at that price point, you can come close to buying another fan. If it is a 4 blade fan, it is probably obsolete.
