Im finishing my basement and learning as I go. I need help with the neo angle shower base that I have already installed. I have read a couple threads that still doesn't really answer my question. Does the cement board go over the shower lip (the place that is used to screw the shower base to the studs) or does it sit on top of it. If it goes over it then won't the board flex out since it is not flush with the studs? I am planning to tile the shower walls. Please help, my wife is cutting me off until it is done. LOL

What is found on the following link states to put the cement board on top.

What you find on the following site may be of help to you. I hope that it is.

Install it over the flange, but short of the lip of the showerbase. Run your tile past the cement board but not touching the shower lip either. Then use a good silicone and fill that gap, This allows for the shower base to flex when you stand in it and not crack the grout.
Good Luck !
