It is a movie about a kid who runs away from home. He was kind of an introvert in the beginning but living on the street makes him tough. He returns home at the end to be a different tough kid.

One scene where one of the kids helps him live on the streets he is selling stolen vcr's to a pawn shop. The pawn shop guy says too bad they didn't have the remotes he would have given them more money to which the kid throws the remotes down on the table.
