Who are "they?" And why does it matter to you?

Is this a friend of yours and your boyfriend? Are they friends? Why worry if they're not talking to each other? I would think you'd be more worried if they spent a lot of time talking. Also, wishing someone a Happy Birthday on their Birthday, is polite, it doesn't mean that anything is going on.

Why are you so paranoid about this? Is there a reason other than what you wrote?
