I am on a well. I had someone out to power wash my house and 5 minutes into it I lost all water to my house. The water returned about 15 minutes later. Water has been fine since(about 2 days) What could be wrong?

Only thing I can think of is that power washers used up too much water too fast, and system needed time to regenerate with new water...

Do you think it will be OK to power wash or will the same thing happen again? No, you cant power wash again until you give your well water time to regenerate. Are you in a low rain fall area of the country ?

As Tickle explained above, yes, you can power wash again, but expect the same problem with water availability. However, if the well regenerated in 15 minutes, that should not be such a big deal

I live in Virginia and we have had plenty of rain this year. I didn't think it would be a water level problem. Thanks for all the input I appreciate it.

Realize that your well is only 6 or 8" in diameter and is fed through water that seeps in through cracks in the wall. When you pull a high GPM,it drops the water level down below the pump or foot valve. When you stop, the well recharges. I have a small P Washer and can run it at our mountain house well all day, on a well system.

I would imagine the power washer is simply pulling more water than your well pump can supply. When that happens, pressure will eventually fall off to zero and the PW cannot draw water. You might be able to PW if you hold it to three or four minute sessions, wait a few minutes, and then try it again.

Is your pump above ground or in the well?
