[B][I have a heated Mattress pad that has worked well for months. Suddenly lost night it got awfully cold. Well, it had gone off (and is supposed to every 10 hours). I pushe the on button but nothing happened. In the morning I tried and tried but it would not go on. So I though gee maybe another outlet will work. And it did!! Another outlet worked just fine... for 2 hours. And IT stopped and I could not turn the mattress back on. Not even by taking the electrical connector out and putting it back in. What do you suppose the problem is? The socket by my bed has a plastic cover that has come loose and some of the insides may have come loose. No, I just went to try that socket again and it works fine. HELP!

The metal prongs of the plug have been annealed from the heated connection, and are worn a bit reduced in size, causing a loose connection. The outlets are fine.

The unit needs to be replaced. Changing the plug will violate UL listing.
